  • Mediation is the use of a third party to facilitate the flow of information and to clarify or re-establish relations between opposing parties in a dispute.
  • This neutral, independent and impartial third party is called a mediator.
  • The solution emerges from the people themselves. The parties therefore retain control, and do not put the outcome of their dispute in the hands of a judge.
